Hence your alter ego is a proton. By answering questions it will be accelerated more and more up to the end when it collides in a detector of the LHC-machine with another proton of your fellow players. If your proton had gained enough energy the Higgs-Boson can be detected. You’ve (almost) won!
The game exists as a fully playable version in German (http://portal.discoverthecosmos.eu/en/node/195694), it will be translated into English next months.</langstring><langstring xml:lang="de">Das Brettspiel ist dem Beschleunigersystem des LHC am CERN nachempfunden. Du lenkst darin Protonen. Diese gewinnen Energie in Beschleunigerstufen, an denen Du Dein physikalisches Wissen anwenden kannst.
Geplante Verbesserungen in naher Zukunft:
- frei editierbarer Fragenkatalog (automatische Erzeugung des pdf-Fragekarten-Ausdrucks)
- &amp;#220;bersetzung ins Englische</langstring><langstring xml:lang=""/></description><keyword><langstring xml:lang="en">CERN</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">LHC</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">general physics</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en"> particle physics</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en"> standard model</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en"> LHC</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en"> CERN</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en"> board game</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en"> </langstring></keyword></general><lifecycle><status><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>draft</value></status><version><langstring xml:lang="en">1.0</langstring></version><contribute><role><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>author</value></role><date><datetime>2013-08-03</datetime><description/></date><centity><vcard>Thoralf Schwab</vcard></centity><centity><vcard>Otmar Winkler</vcard></centity></contribute><contribute><role><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>publisher</value></role><date><datetime>2013-05-31</datetime><description/></date><centity><vcard>Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics @TU Dresden</vcard></centity></contribute></lifecycle><metametadata><language>en</language><metadatascheme>LOM v1.0</metadatascheme><contribute><role><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>creator</value></role><date><datetime>2013-08-03</datetime><description/></date><centity><vcard>Otmar WInkler</vcard></centity></contribute><contribute><role><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>validator</value></role><date><datetime/><description/></date><centity><vcard/></centity></contribute></metametadata><technical><duration><datetime/><description/></duration><requirement><type><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>browser</value></type><name><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>any</value></name><minimumversion/><maximumversion/></requirement><requirement><type><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>os</value></type><name><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>any</value></name><minimumversion/><maximumversion/></requirement><installationremarks/><otherplatformrequirements/><size></size><format>text/html</format><location>http://portal.discoverthecosmos.eu/node/196165</location></technical><rights><cost><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>no</value></cost><copyrightandotherrestrictions><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>no</value></copyrightandotherrestrictions><description/></rights><educational><interactivitytype><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>active</value></interactivitytype><interactivitylevel><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>high</value></interactivitylevel><semanticdensity><source/><value/></semanticdensity><difficulty><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>medium</value></difficulty><typicallearningtime><datetime>2 didactic hours</datetime><description/></typicallearningtime><learningresourcetype><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>Inquiry-Based Teaching</value></learningresourcetype><context><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>school education</value></context><typicalagerange><langstring xml:lang="en">15-18</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">18-25</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">25+</langstring></typicalagerange></educational><classification><purpose><source>LOM v1.0</source><value>Discipline</value></purpose><taxonpath><source><langstring xml:lang="en">Science</langstring></source><taxon><id/><entry><langstring xml:lang="en">Astronomy: Big Bang</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">Astronomy: Cosmology</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">High Energy Physics: Accelerators &amp; Beams</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">High Energy Physics: Charged particle acceleration</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">High Energy Physics: Higgs particle</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">High Energy Physics: Leptons </langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">High Energy Physics: Particle Cosmology</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">High Energy Physics: Particle detectors</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">High Energy Physics: Quarks &amp; Hadrons</langstring><langstring xml:lang="en">High Energy Physics: Standard model</langstring></entry></taxon></taxonpath><description/></classification></lom>
